casttotv · Developer: GF43 · Last updated: November 1, 2026

This policy explains how casttotv handles content you choose to play on a TV or laptop, QR scanning, screen sharing and resume points. Available features depend on your operating system and installation.

GF43 data and services

casttotv requires no account, displays no ads and includes no GF43 usage analytics or crash-reporting service. The app does not send your photos, videos, camera images, shared screen or viewing history to GF43 servers. Transfers to receivers, content providers and Google Cast are explained below.

Connection history and resume points

The app keeps up to 10 previously connected receivers, including their identifiers, names and most recent connection times. The most recent resume point contains the video URL and title, content type, playback position, duration when available, receiver name, update time and preview image URL when available.

This data is stored locally in app storage, or browser storage in the web version. URLs can contain access tokens or private information. Avoid sharing sensitive URLs and use trusted content. Temporary local file-sharing URLs are not saved as resume points.

Links, photos and videos you choose

The app receives links you enter, open through a deep link or share from another app, and photos/videos you select using the operating system's picker. Receiving content does not automatically start playback. When you tap play, the receiver gets the URL and information needed to display the content. The URL's provider may receive content requests and connection information such as the downloading device's IP address, under its own policy. Preview images may also be fetched from URLs supplied by the receiver.

For a file on your phone, casttotv makes a temporary cached copy; images may be converted to JPEG and resized for playback. Videos are unchanged and may retain embedded metadata. The original file is not changed. The copy is served over local Wi-Fi using HTTP and a random URL, without GF43 cloud storage. A device that has this URL and can reach that network can read the content while sharing is active.

File sharing stops when you stop sharing, leave the app, change networks or lose the connection. Dedicated session copies are cleaned up when sharing ends; other copies created by the picker or image conversion may remain in cache until cleared by the app or operating system. A receiver may still display an image or buffered video; stopping sharing does not erase copies elsewhere.

Camera and QR codes

Camera access is used to scan pairing QR codes when you open that feature. The app decodes camera images on your device without recording or sending them to GF43. The QR code contains the laptop address, pairing code and expiry. Scanning fills the connection fields; you must still tap Pair to send the code to the laptop. You can enter the address and code manually without camera access.

Laptop pairing and your local network

The phone and laptop receiver exchange network addresses, a pairing code, a control-session token, commands and playback status. The receiver may create video-frame previews. The control token is held in session memory, not written to connection history. The receiver holds session state and previews in memory and clears them when the session resets or its server process ends.

Laptop pairing/control and local file serving use HTTP without transport encryption. Use a trusted private network, pair with your own laptop and do not expose the receiver's port to the Internet. Keep pairing codes and active file URLs private. Disconnect to end the control session.

Android screen sharing

Screen sharing starts only after you choose the feature and approve Android's screen-sharing prompt. Screen images are sent over WebRTC to the paired laptop, with connection setup exchanged through the local session. The current mode does not transmit audio; casttotv does not record the screen to a file or send it to GF43.

The screen area you allow to be shared can include notifications and private information. Share only with people you trust. Stop using Stop sharing or Android's sharing controls. The recipient can still capture or record received content using other tools.

Google Cast and external services

Installations with Google Cast use Google's SDK for receiver discovery and communication. Google's Android Cast SDK disclosure describes discovery/session events and technical device/app information sent to measure and improve Cast. Google handles this data under its Privacy Policy; clearing casttotv history does not delete data held by Google.

Your operating system, receiver, browser and content services have their own policies. GF43 does not control their retention or handling of content you choose to send to them.

Device permissions and connection checks

The app uses network access to discover receivers, connect and send content; camera permission for QR scanning; and Android screen-sharing consent for screen mirroring. The photo picker grants access to content you select. The current installation does not request microphone permission or broad Android photo-library access.

Connection checks read the network type, connectivity, local IP address, Android Google Play Services availability and discovered Cast receivers to show results on your device. There is no GF43 diagnostic-reporting service. Manage permissions in your operating system's settings; denying a permission limits the feature that needs it.

Deletion and your choices

Use Clear history and resume point in Settings to remove saved receivers and your resume point from app storage. Stop local file sharing, stop screen sharing and disconnect to end active sessions. Clear app data in your operating system, uninstall the app, or clear the browser's site data to remove the corresponding local data.

Operating-system backup and device transfer depend on your system and settings; GF43 provides no separate cloud-backup service. Deletion on this device does not remove original files, content sent elsewhere or backups managed by your operating system.

Children and contact

The app does not request birth dates or child profiles. Guardians should guide children before they share content or screens. Contact us if you believe a child's personal information has been sent to GF43.

If you email support, GF43 receives your email address and the content you choose to send in order to respond. Do not email active pairing codes, URLs containing access tokens or sensitive content.
