DimSnap · Developer: GF43 · Last updated: 22 October 2026

DimSnap is a photo annotation app for Android. It works entirely on your phone.

What DimSnap collects

Nothing. DimSnap has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no crash reporting. The store version of the app does not have the Android permission to use the internet, so it cannot send anything anywhere.

What stays on your phone

Other apps cannot read DimSnap's private storage. Uninstalling DimSnap, or clearing its storage in Android settings, deletes all of it. Images you saved to the gallery and backup files you saved elsewhere stay where you put them.

Photos and the camera

DimSnap uses Android's photo picker (or, on phones without it, Android's file picker) and your camera app. It only receives the photos you pick or take, or share to it from another app, and never sees the rest of your gallery. It does not ask for camera or photo-library permissions.

If you turn on Keep camera shots in gallery, photos you take in DimSnap are also saved to your gallery (DCIM/DimSnap). This option is off by default.

Exported images

When you export, DimSnap draws a new image with your marks. It contains no location, camera, or other details from the original photo. Its file name is made from the project name and photo title, so choose names you are happy to share. The image goes only where you send it: to your gallery (Pictures/DimSnap) or to the app you pick in Android's share sheet. What that app does with it is covered by its own policy.

On Android 9 and earlier, saving to the gallery (an export, or a camera shot with Keep camera shots in gallery on) needs the storage permission; DimSnap asks for it only then.

Backups

Back up projects in Settings saves every project and photo in one zip file, in the place you pick with Android's file picker: the phone, a memory card, or a cloud drive you use. DimSnap does not upload it anywhere itself. The file holds your photos exactly as you added them, including any location details they carry, and it is not encrypted: keep it somewhere you trust. Restore a backup adds the projects from such a file; projects already on the phone are not changed.

Android's cloud backup keeps DimSnap's settings only, never your photos or projects. On Android 12 and later, DimSnap permits projects to be included in device-to-device transfer; availability depends on the devices and transfer method. On Android 11 and earlier, only settings are included. Use Back up projects before changing phones to keep a portable copy of your work.

Children

DimSnap collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published here with a new date. A version of DimSnap that collected data would say so in this policy and in its Google Play listing before it did.
