DiffSnap is an offline photo comparison app. This policy explains what it does with your information. In short, your photos and projects stay on your device, and DiffSnap does not collect, share, or sell any data about you.

What DiffSnap processes

DiffSnap processes only the two photos you choose for each comparison and the projects you create from them, including their alignment, labels, and export settings. This happens entirely on your device. Copies of the chosen photos, your projects, and your language and appearance settings are stored in DiffSnap’s private storage. Your original photos are never changed.

Permissions

DiffSnap does not need access to your whole photo library. You choose photos in the system picker, and DiffSnap receives only those. When you save an export to Photos, your device may ask you to allow adding photos, and on Android 9 and older it uses the storage permission for this. On Android, DiffSnap has the internet permission only because Google Play’s billing library, which sells Pro, includes it. DiffSnap itself sends nothing over the internet. It does not ask for access to your location, contacts, camera, or microphone.

No collection, sharing, or tracking

DiffSnap has no account, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. It does not collect personal information, and it does not send your photos, projects, or settings to the developer or anyone else. Apart from backups your device makes under your own settings, nothing leaves your device unless you export it.

Purchases

DiffSnap Pro is sold through Google Play. Google Play handles the payment and your Google account under Google’s privacy policy, and its billing library may send purchase diagnostics to Google. DiffSnap receives no payment details. It keeps only the purchase receipt on this device, to remember that Pro is unlocked.

Exporting and sharing

Images leave DiffSnap only when you save them to Photos or share them, and you decide when. Sharing hands the image to the app you pick, which treats it under its own privacy policy. DiffSnap removes its temporary export file afterwards. Images you exported stay where you put them. Exported images contain only the rendered comparison. Location and other photo metadata are not copied.

Deleting your data

You can delete a project at any time, which removes the photo copies stored with it. Temporary copies made while you pick or share photos can stay in DiffSnap’s temporary storage until the system clears them. In Settings, Delete all data removes every project with its photo copies, your settings, and all temporary files. Photos in your gallery and images you exported are not affected. Uninstalling DiffSnap removes its private storage from this device.

Children

DiffSnap collects no personal information from anyone, so it collects none from children either.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change as DiffSnap changes. The latest version is always in the app, with its date at the top.
